Dell 8200 Graphics card upgrade
Save your money and put it towards your graphics card. Secondly. I'm tossing up between a GeForce 4 Ti 4200, Radeon 8500, Radeon 9000 and the 9000 Pro. The GeForce is the most expensive of the lot while the 9000 is the cheapest by quite a bit. I'll be using my new rig mostly for playing games.

Buying a Mac just to run SW can't be a serious suggestion. The Mac may be a superior platform in general, but it's just wrong for SW. If you want to buy a pre-built box without thinking too Stay with XP pro for now. Either of these will run SW at a speed on par with the Mac, but with better, more stable graphics.

A few weeks ago I returned a dragon plus Mobo I thought was defective for this same reason, and I got a message back from them that said the AGP slot was fine no problem at all, I tried the same 3 different graphic cards here, I am positive all 3 work fine. I upgraded to a new graphics card (GIGABYTE GV-RX385512H HD3850 RT), but I can't get it to post. I tried both PCI-Ex16 slots. I tried the same card in another system and it posted fine. When I put the old graphcis card back in, everything works. Any ideas? Does that MOBO have "AI Slot Detector"?
